A music event at Oasis Dynastic Music Club in Lajopi Gymnasium Cell, Cesia Ward, Adjumani Town Council, turned chaotic in the early hours of August 30, 2025, when headlining Ugandan artist Kapeke failed to perform as scheduled. The incident, which began around 2:00 AM, saw an enraged crowd of disappointed supporters, who had paid entry fees, unleash havoc, damaging property and injuring two police officers.
The unrest prompted a swift response from Adjumani police, who deployed live bullets and tear gas to disperse the crowd. During the melee, two officers, CPL/DRV. Ojara Samuel (No. 52214) and PC Meri Francis (No. 56408), sustained injuries from stones hurled by the mob. Both officers have been issued PF3 forms for medical treatment and are reported to be in stable condition.
Significant property damage was reported, including a police patrol vehicle (UP 7673) with a smashed driver’s side window and mirror, as well as extensive damage to the club’s property, such as televisions, plastic chairs, crates of beer, bottles, and window glasses.
Eight suspects have been apprehended in connection with the incident, including Kebuka Pamela Tracy, Operations Manager of Oasis Dynastic Music Club, along with Iceta Patrick, Grace Ukusi, Mundua Gloria, Obudra Joel, Andruga Ochora, Unziku Emmanuel, and Igama Steven. The suspects are currently under investigation by the Adjumani Central Police Station (CPS).
The damaged police vehicle remains at CPS for further inspection, and authorities are continuing their investigation. SP Asea Collins, North West Nile Region, stated that further updates will be provided as new details emerge.
